Spinach & Beetroot Namak Paare

Namak Paare qualifies as India's most loved tea time snack. To give it a slight twist, interesting flavour and ofcourse up the health quotient, I added Beetroot & Spinach juice to the dough. The result was stellar, and I am sure you will love this snack even more now!

INGREDIENTS - BEETROOT NAMAK PAARE 1 1/4 cup All Purpose Flour 1 tbsp Semolina 1 tbsp Olive Oil 1/2 tsp Salt 1/2 tsp Carom seeds 3/4 cup Beetroot Juice Oil for frying SPINACH NAMAK PAARE 1 1/4 cup All Purpose Flour 1 tbsp Semolina 1 tbsp Olive Oil 1/2 tsp Salt 1/2 tsp Carom seeds 3/4 cup Spinach Juice Oil for frying PROCESS - 1. Add the flour, semolina, salt, carom seeds and olive oil in a bowl. Mix it well using hands. 2. Now add the juice to the batter and knead it well to make a fine dough. Keep it aside for few minutes. 3. Divide the dough into equal parts and roll it thinly using a rolling pin. 4. Using a pizza cutter or sharp knife, cut out rectangles out of the dough. Alongside, heat the oil in a thick bottomed pan. 5. Fry the Namak paare as soon as the oil is hot. Make sure you turn the flame to low heat while cooking them so that they are crisp in texture, don't absorb too much oil and are cooked properly. 6. Transfer them to a plate, dab the extra oil using a paper tissue and store in an air tight container.
