Crispy Potato Cheese Balls

Restaurant style crispy cheese balls make for a great appetizer at home. This monsoon season, you can enjoy it easily at home with this quick recipe!

  • 4 small Potatoes, boiled and mashed

  • 8 big Cheese cubes (Mozarella or Parmesan)

  • 2 tbsp all purpose flour

  • 2 tsp corn flour

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 1 cup bread crumbs

  • Oil for frying

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp garam masala

  • 1 tsp mixed herbs

  • 2 tbsp coriander, chopped


  • Take a small bowl and add the mashed potatoes in it, along with all purpose flour and all the spices. Mix it well.
  • Make small balls of this batter and flatten it gently using your hands.
  • Place a big cube of cheese at the centre and wrap the edges together.
  • Repeat this process for the remaining batter.
  • Now, take another bowl and a make a paste using corn flour and water. Dip the balls in this paste, and further roll them in the bread crumbs evenly once.
  • Next, heat the oil in a thick bottomed pan and deep fry each of these cheese balls one by one. Ensure they don’t burst open, and are fried evenly until they turned golden brown in color.
  • Transfer them to a paper tissue to drain excess oil.
  • Serve hot with schezwan or mint dip.
